Ds started secondary and is on a bus 2X 45 min a day. He is finding the travelling more tricky than expected. he is on his phone for the journey but keeps losing his earphones and doesn’t want a sound reducing ones
he will chat to others if they are sitting nearby
not actually sure which part of the journey he doesn’t like as in having to sit or the noise.(mind you once he is at home he will sit for hrs)
This could just be another reason on his list why he wants to move school but
iam desperately trying to find a ways to not have to but seems to be loosing the battle.
Any tried tricks please to eliminate this problem.

Is the bus transport provided by the LA? If so, would a taxi help? That would reduce the travel time and noise. The LA will try to tell you it isn’t possible, but transport should be non-stressful and it is possible. If the bus isn’t LA transport, have you looked whether DS is eligible for it?

Could DS take something to do &/or a snack? If DS doesn’t already sit there, would sitting near the front help?

no. it’s a grammar school coach and they are not able to pick specific seats as most are taken up by the time they get on and he would hate it if i started making arrangements for him

My DD listens to music. I know you say your DS loses his headphones but what about a small MP3 player with headphones that he leaves plugged in? It might be harder to lose if always connected?
