Echp mediation

Has anyone had to go to mediation with their local authority? If so, how did it go?

I have mediation in a few weeks as my son got denied a EHCP. I just want to be prepared as I am raging with them, and with the way I feel I will not hold back on telling them some home truths tbh

Don’t bother actively partaking in mediation, just get the certificate and submit to SENDIST. LAs use mediation as a delaying tactic. If they are going to concede, they will do so regardless of whether you actively partake or just get the certificate.

I was going to get the certificate but The waiting time to get this seen by a judge is a year. So I thought meditation would be quicker as I have an report from an educational psychologist @BlueBrick

If the LA is going to concede they will do so whether you actively partake in mediation or just get the certificate and submit to SENDIST. The wait for a hearing is long, but if mediation isn’t successful you have lost time and will still need to appeal which is why LAs use it as a delaying tactic. Whereas, if you submit an appeal ASAP if the LA is going to concede they will do so anyway.
