Inattentive ADHD & dyspraxia

We had DSs parents evening last night and his teacher suggested he may have ADHD & dyspraxia. He's in year 2 and we've been asking about additional needs since he was a toddler. TBH I've always suspected autism, but everyone I've raised this with has always said he's absolutely fine.

anyway, we're now in a situation where he's making very little progress in school because he does little unlesss he has an adult with him. We see the same at home. He's very capable at building and following Lego instructions, but unless we sit with him, he doesn't do it. He's also very disengaged in extra-curriculars, despite being keen to go. His swim and music teachers have both said that he more than capable but is distracted (swimming) or gives up when he needs to take a risk (music). His music teacher feels he lacks confidence more than anything.

I'm not really sure why I'm posting, but I'm wondering if anyone has similar children and maybe has some suggestions on anything that has helped them make progress?

We we're already considering home education at secondary age, and having worked in local secondary schools, that perhaps now seems even more likely, but I don't know how to help DS in the meantime.

TIA

Has DS had an EP assessment? Has he had a sensory OT assessment? Does he have an EHCP?

Personally I wouldn’t EHE. If school isn’t suitable I would pursue EOTAS. Unless money is no object EOTAS can provide far more than EHE can. That isn’t a criticism of anyone who EHE more a statement of the provision/therapies that can be included in EOTAS.
