Is your dyslexic/ADHD child exhausted?

Dd is 7, recently screened as dyslexic and referred with suspected ADHD.

Ive noticed over the last couple of weeks that she’s absolutely exhausted, grumpy in the mornings then flat out on the sofa by tea time. I put it down to getting to the end of term etc but tonight, at the end of a not particularly strenuous half term break, she’s the same again. I think she’s probably been like this for a while but I’m noticing it more now I’m watching for symptoms and traits more.

Diet wise she eats a good range of foods but will not entertain meat or potatoes (suspected sensory issue as part of the ADHD). I try and make up for this with other foods, plenty of eggs and different beans for protein and there isn’t a fruit or vegetable that she won’t eat. I haven’t been worried about her diet up to now.

Ive read that dyslexic children can be deficient in various vitamins so I’m going to try and get some multivitamins tomorrow to try.
I’ve also read that some are exhausted after trying so hard/masking at school all day which makes sense but she hasn’t been at school all week and is the same.

I think I’m just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if it is to do with dyslexia/ADHD or if it’s worth a visit to the dr. I thought if I ring now they’ll tell me to get multivitamins so I’ll get them first and then ring!

Yes, she also has low vitamin D and some mental health issues. She gets so exhausted. In fact she will be having tomorrow off school as she just needs a rest, shes exhausted, pale and just needs to rest up.

Thanks @Sharkpenis, that sounds familiar. I hope she feels better after a rest day. She’s lucky to have a parent who believes in mental health days, I think they’re so important.
