End of term report

My DD got an end of term report the week before Christmas. She is 7 and in year 3. Awaiting assessment for ADHD/ASD. She is expected or working towards for all subjects but in the teacher notes her teacher has written: "needs to work on concentrating, sittting still and not shouting out in class."
I feel quite upset about this as the teacher knows she is under assessment and surely all of those things are direct symptoms and maybe things that she cannot control right now?
(Just for context my DS has ASD and his teachers would never dream of writing something like that as they concentrate on the positive things he has achieved)
Should I have a chat with the SENCO?

Yes, speak to the SENCO about how DD can be supported. I don’t think it is unreasonable to comment on difficulties arising from SEN on reports, even if they are a result of DD’s SEN there are things school/you/DD can do to work on them e.g. a wobble cushion, movement breaks, fidget toy, visual prompts, ear defenders/noise cancelling headphones…

These sorts of things will still arise as social emotional and independence targets in an EHCP annual review if they get one, though. It is still something that is a goal to achieve, though with an EHCP it will outline provision needed in order to help achieve the targets.

Having special needs, an EHCP or even being in a special school will still see these factors as areas to be worked on.
