What support can I expect from secondary school for ASD DD

DD in year 7 has just been diagnosed with ASD and school seem very uninterested in providing extra help.
She masks a lot at school, struggles socially and communicating with teachers, struggles with homework, anxiety and with concentrating in-class. She is behind academically.
She doesn't cause any trouble in class hence why school isn't that bothered

What can I realistically expect them to provide without an ehcp. And should I be trying to get her one? Any advice would be great.

Schools must make their ‘best endeavours’ to meet a pupils SEN.

Examples of support often given without an EHCP are:
A time out pass
A key worker/mentor
Laptop/copy of notes
extra time and other access arrangements in tests
Amending seating plans to take into account DD’s needs
Somewhere quiet to go at lunchtime
Allowing her to move classes 5 minutes early to avoid the rush
Homework club
In some schools dropping MFL for additional maths and English support.

If you think DD needs more support than the school are &/or can provide apply for an EHCNA.

Thanks for this response. Some of these things you have suggested would be really helpful and I hope would be fairly easy to implement. I'll get back to the school again with some specific ideas.

The autistic girls network have recently released a list of reasonable adjustments which is very helpful
