Any ideas for autism-friendly sports activities in north / central London

Hello all, I have an autistic son, aged 4, and I'm really struggling to find activities he can participate in. I was at a fortieth recently and all the parents were talking about what activities their kids do (bad party chat I know 😂), and it made me feel really sad because there isn't currently anything I can think of that would be accessible. We tried a mainstream gymnastics class last year, with me attending to support, but it was just a total nightmare as my son was totally overwhelmed and overexcited and just kept running away.

Ideally I'd like him to do gymnastics, but I'm open to any and all suggestions about what has worked for other people. We're in North London but I'd travel for the right activity.

My son is verbal, but it's often unclear what he is taking in and he doesn't communicate a great deal with his own words. He's very strong and physically confident. We do have issues with him hitting / biting other children so it definitely needs to be something where he won't feel too crowded amongst others.

You can search for disability gymnastics sessions here.

Ability counts football sessions are good too, your local FA will be able to point you in the direction of the nearest.

Pro Elite do a good football session, DS has been going for a long time and loves it - he is ASD. There seems to be quite a few kids with SEN in the class.
