Help for siblings

My DS11 has recently been diagnosed ASD. We have suspected for a long time but it took years to get a diagnosis. My DD14 is really struggling on how to deal with it. She says and does things that send him into meltdown and when I explain to her, she just won't accept that something so small is a trigger for him. She can't accept that I need to parent them both differently and sees it as him getting away with behaving badly. It's so difficult as she sees it as me favouring him but it's really not like that. We have always been so close and I hate that this is harming our relationship too. Can anyone recommend any resources for siblings, or have any advice? I feel like I'm torn in two trying to help them both.

Do you have a Young Carers group locally and have you spoken to DD’s school to see if they can offer any support e.g. counsellor/mentor?

Would DD be willing to read/listen/watch about ASD? If so, try Purple Ella, Tania Marshall and Sarah Hendricks.

Does she get 1:1 time?

Is DS receiving support in order to cope better?

Thank you for your reply. I will look into support groups locally. Today has been a good day. Think I just have to try and take each day as it comes, and as a family look for support and ask for help.
