Teen DD suspected ADD/ADHD - how to help

Hi everyone, your views appreciated. My 13yo DD is struggling at school, with friendships and with academic tests which do not reflect her performance in class.
Are there any online tests I can ask her to take, which also offer her (and me) some guidance on how she can be better supported?
If I obtain a private diagnosis, will it help? (Recognising that NHS support is unlikely to be available)
Any help would be appreciated, she’s masking but I see a sad and struggling child Sad

Have you spoken to the school SENCO? If not I would make an appointment to discuss what school can do to help.

Also make an appointment with your GP to discuss the issues.

@BlimeyO definitely make an appointment to speak to both the SENCO and your GP, if you can. You can request a referral for assessment for ADHD. You could also pursue a private diagnosis, but be warned that not all schools will recognise it.

If I were you I would try the NHS route first tbh. My now 17yo DS was referred and assessed via the NHS with school SENCO and class teacher also providing feedback (he has diagnoses of both ASD and ADD). I know NHS services can be patchy depending on the area you live but I wouldn't automatically assume that NSH support is unlikely to be available - try that route first.

Good luck, it is so hard when they struggle.

Thank you both, really appreciate your replies.

I have made an appointment with the GP. I have contacted the school SENCO, who seems very supportive. Hopefully we can find a path forward.
