Hello,

My DD is recently diagnosed as autistic; she is in Y3. Her current mainstream primary is going through the EHCP process but I have doubts whether they will be able to meet her needs and am looking for alternatives.
Can anyone tell me what Egerton Rothesay is like at the moment (junior school)? She is beginning to slip academically and is quite impaired with social and communication issues. Are there plenty of girls there or is it more boys? I am hoping to go to an open day.
Thank you

Try correcting the school name in the title of your post.; you may get more response. Or try posting in Special needs: SEN chat.
I can tell you that Egerton Rothesay school has more boys than girls but the ratio differs from year to year.

Hi @DrHildegardeLanstrom, we are looking at ERS for our son, currently in Y2 at a mainstream infant school. We had a look around the school in September 2021 and were very impressed. Boys do significantly outnumber girls at a ratio of around 60/40 or 70/30, depending on the intake, however we have visited a number of special schools and that was the case at all of them. Our son is academically able but has significant SEMH needs - we are 2.5 years into waiting for a paeds assessment for ADHD, autism, PDA. ERS seems like a good fit as it follows the mainstream curriculum. Class sizes of no more than 8, some streaming according to ability in each subject, on-site SALT and OT provision and caring staff. I would definitely recommend arranging a visit.
