Are you able to claim DLA/PIP for a child experiencing ADD/ADHD?

Waiting on diagnosis. DC requires extra supervision on day trips etc to keep safe.

Yes. DC was awarded (joint diagnosis age 7) from around age 13. We didn’t apply for a few years.
Has it until 19 and will be reassessed then.

Ahhh sorry, DC has joint ADHD/ASD.

Yes you can, DLA (under 16) and PIP (16+) are based on needs, not diagnosis. You don't need a diagnosis to apply.

For DLA the Cerebra guide is helpful when completing the forms.

Deleted unless you are in Scotland DS will be reassessed at 16 on transition to PIP. If you are in Scotland then it will be at 18.

Thanks for your replies.

DC's main issue is behavioural/impulsiveness with some sensory and focus issues (now being monitored at school) and interactions (either too dominant or too passive with other children.). Also sleep issues re. waking/night terrors. No sense of stranger danger (will chat to everyone and anyone). A day trip means vigilant supervision as might extra curricular activities.

Not sure this is enough to qualify but thought I would check.
