Private schools with great SEN in Surrey?

Hello,

We are looking at a potential move from SW London to Surrey (East Horsley/Bookham/Cobham area) and I'm currently researching potential schools for my daughter (Y3) who has dyslexia.
She's very arty, musical and quite sensitive so would love to find a nurturing school that will support her with maths/English (on which is is a little behind) and strong on arts and sports. Willing to go private (although if v selective/academic would most likely not get in and ideally one that spans both primary and secondary to avoid another big change of school in a few years.
Thanks so much and hugely grateful for any advice on this.

Have you searched on the crested website? There are some schools in surrey that are registered with them. Note they are not all 'special schools' they are schools with recognised good support, see the crested website here Crested Find a School
Also if you subscribe to the Good Schools Guide and search for sen schools. HERE
Even look at the schools that are not on the SEN list and read about what provisions they have. My advice would be if at all possible go for a school that goes through to 16yrs or 18 years.

11+ was quite stressful for both my dyslexic children, one is super mild and the other is more comprehensive.

When you visit the schools you can ask to be put in touch with some parents to get feedback over the phone from them.

Hope that helps.

Also try Manor House in Bookham. Norte Dame best of the 3 for sport.
But none of these schools will be good for a girls with anything more than mild SEN please look carefully at what they can offer.

Kingswood House in Epsom is Crested and will be co/ed from September 2021.

I wouldn't try Claremont Fan Court with a dyslexia diagnosis, unless she is very academic and can manage the entrance exams without extra time.

This year, the students were not given any extra time, even if you qualified for it. Further more in a recent parent outdoor tour, the HM was asked about the ration of SEN students and he said that they didn't take any for this coming year. It might change next year, but this is worth having in mind.

I heard good thing of Manor House on this front. HTH
