Covid risk assessment

Hi,

Can schools risk assess children out as being too high risk to be in school at the moment? She has a full 32.5 hours EHCP but school have already had a go in the weeks leading up to Christmas that she is the reason they can't give staff a safe risk assessment and that was in tier 2. Shes currently only accessing 11-3pm on a reduced timetable as it is. We are now tier 4 so I think they will want her out but not entirely sure if they can?

What are her behaviours or care needs that they are saying are causing an issue?

@EverythingsComingUpRoses she has no concept of the idea of bubbles or one way systems so isn't reliable at all for staying within them, plus she can be a runner (although her last bolt in school was before October half term). She isn't willfully breaking the rules, she just doesn't get it nor does she understand the multitude of ways we've tried to explain it.

They also don't like how much close contact she needs with her 1-1 but then she's in year 1, they all have close contact. Its just hers is 4 hours a day with one member of staff.

I've made a point of effectively keeping us in lockdown since March because I know she isn't great for the covid risk measures but obviously school won't just take my word for that. I don't know how to reassure them that she is absolutely as low risk as I can humanly get her but they aren't happy with her being in.

They are being absolutely ridiculous and they should have in school measures to protect her and the staff

Gloves for hand holding, mask or visor if they are sitting opposite her (but the should aim to sit at the side rather than opposite), frequent hand washing for her and the staff working with her

None of my class understand social distancing, mouth objects, need support with personal care and can spit or bite -all secondary pupils and all in school every day unless they've been exposed or are displaying symptoms

Have you agreed to the part time timetable and is there a plan in place to return her to full time ASAP?
Sounds like they are just making excuses
