C-Pen Reader - Are they with the money?

I'd be interested in peoples experiences, especially in GCSE exams.

I've always been very keen on DD, who is dyslexic, reading herself as much as possible, and she now has a reading age above her chronological age ShockGrin. However, she misread a word in an assessment today and wrote an awful lot about the wrong thing, before realising her mistake. Sad

They're not cheap so I'd love to hear real life experiences before I invest.

We’re going to try one after half term, so interested to see how others get on. You do get a fortnight to try it out before buying (or a month if organised through school I think?) which may be helpful.

@LynetteScavo I bought a load for my school and I have pupils who love them. All can read, all are bright but will miss that particular word or misread it completely. One uses it to scan a whole question so they can listen to it a couple of times as their working memory isn't great. That being said, some don't get on with it at all. Manipulating it varies with people and also the reading ability needs to be good so they can work out if it is a mispronunciation or not. I find they are not so good with younger kids.

You can use them for GCSE English Language too.

That's sounds positive @myfatiguehastiredness

I've ordered one from Amazon. - I'll let you know how we get on.
