Hi all, probably an easy one - as the title - does anyone please know how I can find out which Ed Psych works with a school WITHOUT asking the school?

Thank you
Lpd

I've just googled our LA's Educational Psychology Service and it's brought up a school allocation list.

Maybe you could see if yours does the same?

If you can't see a list, there should be a number to contact them and ask.

My experience is it’s via the LA and whilst certain ones are allocated, usually geographically, like the SEN officers they tend to get swapped round etc quite a lot. It might be worth asking your local SENDIS team (formally parent partnership - can have other names depending on where you live)

You wouldn't find that information (at least in LA's where I've worked) without asking the LA or school directly. Lots of EP services are now fully traded and schools directly buy in their services, bypassing LA procedures.

Why do you not want to ask the school for this information? It would be wrong for you to contact an EP directly, unless they had had previous involvement, or your child was due to see them and you wanted info about timescales etc. If you want advice see if there's a local EP drop in session that you could access.

Hi thanks everyone this is very helpful. To answer a pp, I need to find out if the schools Ed psych is knowledgeable about our area of need. We are thinking of requesting a reassessment of need at a new school but don't want to shoot ourselves in the foot.
Thanks again :)
