Could anyone recommend a weighted blanket for my son? Would have to be an adults one I think as he weighs 11st.
Preferably with removable washable cover.

Hi op,

You're best getting one made specifically. I have never seen a weighted blanket with a removable cover due to the weight on the inner and it staying in place. There are plenty of people on Facebook who make them. Personally i have used Lucy's weighted blankets and weighted blankets scotland. Both really good quality and made to own specification. I have a smaller blanket and a full size single bed blanket, both have been washed as you would wash normal bedding and haven't had any issues with them.

Thank you. I will have a look.

Mine was from Amazon - my mum made my daughter's but I bought my own and the weighting inside it doesn't slosh about like in my mum's made one.

Mine has a removable cover by the way - it ties inside to the blanket part in several places to stop the blanket flopping down into a lump. It was pricey though but I was crippled with anxiety at the time and it was a godsend.

Thank you. I'd prefer
Washable covers that I can change.
The company the previous poster mentions charge £135 plus postage for the size I need so I'm aware they're pricey. My sons anxiety is awful so I'm prepared to pay for whatever that may help him

I originally hired one from this company and my daughter liked it so much i went on to buy it. If you hire a blanket and then go on to buy one they refund your hire cost.

The helpline was really helpful and knowledgeable (I phoned them twice). They do range of weights up to adult size.

Interested in why these work for anxiety? Any ideas?
