Child with DLD and anxiety

My DS is still is 7. Went to a speech and language unit for 2 years and is now on his 1st year full time mainstream. He has a diagnosis of DLD and has very recently been referred to family support hub to try and access CAHAMs for his anxiety.
We are currently having major issues getting him into a school in the mornings. This morning it took him 21 mins to finally leave me. In this time not 1 teacher or staff member approached to help. I have a meeting with the senco this week who also is the school principal which is to do with no Iep being produced. Is it fair to ask that I either want someone to meet me at the gate every morning(parents not meant to enter school but most days I have to), meet me in building or even for him to start 10 mins later so a member of staff will meet him at door and bring him to class. Don't want to be one of those parents but it's making his anxiety worse every morning

Hi. I have a 10 yr old with DLD who gets anxious very easily if his needs are not being met. We had to take him out of mainstream at age 7 because it couldn't meet his needs. Have you considered an independent specialist school specifically set up to help children with language disorders like Blossom House School if you are London based or one like this if it exists in your area? Does he have an EHCP?

We are in Northern Ireland. He previously went to a speech and language unit but they can only do two years there. This is his first year mainstream. He's doing well academically but lacks social skills and anxiety through the roof. We also don't have ECHP but still statements. He's at stage 3 but still not classed as severe enough for a statement

I don't know anything about the options in Northern Ireland, unfortunately, so can't suggest anything. I'm sorry. Anxiety is a horrible thing for a child to experience daily and it's really hard on parents too. I don't know if there are any Facebook or other groups in Northern Ireland where someone could give you ideas if they've been through something similar. Don't give up. I believe we find answers if we keep looking.

Yes I would ask that he either goes in 10 minutes earlier or 10 minutes later and that a member of staff meets you. If he went in earlier maybe they could give him a specific job to do?

Do you think there may be anything else going on besides the DLD? What are his social skills like?

Yes we have made arrangements on Thursday to get a member of staff to meet him at the gate so will be interesting to see if it happens today. Another meeting with senco this week. So far only diagnosis is DLD. Still under paeds for possible autism assessment. Social skills are poor
