EHCP social care section

Just drafting for forthcoming request to assess. Not sure what to put in this section. DS is age 9 and has dyspraxia ADD and dyslexia (latter is working diagnosis).

He is fine socially a little young emotionally for his age, but has friends and seems to manage OK. He would be vulnerable to 'stranger danger' I know that's a misnomer but you see what I mean. I never put him in a situation where he could be taken advantage of (I'm very careful as I had an unscrupulous adult in family when I was growing up).

Any ideas?

It is fine to state there are no additional needs in this area.
or
That he is emotionally vulnerable and immature for his age.

Many EHCPs don't have needs in all 3 areas.

It's not up to you to draft the EHCP, the LA should be doing so. It should also have obtained advice and information from social services to enable it to do so. However, if you don't feel you need social care help it's not worth making a fuss about it.

It was on the form, which I now discover is not the right one, as I have to email someone to ask for a parent ask to request form...

Just didn't get what they mean by social care, may be it is for older children who are teens.

Social care is things like support in the home, a buddy to take the child out, referrals to relevant activities, respite care, etc; for older children it could include help in relation to independent living, access to community activities etc.
