he has been assessed for ADHD but he was just 2 points away from being diagnosed with ADHD. He is having another assessment in a year time. He started to improve towards the end of last years term (june/july). He gets distracted when in the classroom so his TA takes him out of the classroom and have a one to one with him.

I noticed on the last terms school report that he's very clever with his maths but struggles on his English (he can read stories and explain them back to me well), but he cannot structure a story together, so i dont know whether cos by the time they've got my DS's attention in the classroom, the lesson is over or he cannot put a story together. (At first, he was assessed for dyspraxia cos he couldnt hold a pen but he's nearly 100% getting there).

Is there any websites etc that i can help him with?..

thanks

Bump.

I'm not sure how often he is out of his classroom. I will ask.

Wondering if there might be something in the book above....we have some of the same with story structure. I noticed this when we were making a sticker comic together - it was random scenes of batman and no story line!
There are masses of stuff on Pintrest for quick ideas to have a go with (I use lots of phonics and sight word stuff from there).
Also maybe talk about favourite films and books - what does the hero/heroine have to overcome? Obstacles inner and outer, helpers, tricksters and so on. How does it begin and end? What makes it so satisfying to watch/read?

Writers in the grown up world are always looking to see how other writers tackle these things too - observe what 'works' then have a go.

Dyslexia Pocketbook by Julie-Bennett This series aimed at teachers is great too, might find some tips in there. Local library will order it for you if needs be.
