Hello. I am hoping there may be some parents of Morehouse School in Frensham that would be willing to talk to me. My son has been offered a place and I would love to chat to any current parents as we are unsure whether it’s the right school for him.

My son is in his second year at More House School (year 9). So pleased with the school, happy to talk

Thank you that would be great. I’m not that familiar with this site, is there a way of PMing you?

My son is in the autistic spectrum, ideally I would like to keep him in a mainstream school, he is in year 3 now, but I am beginning to lose the strength that is required to fight headmistresses, sencos, teachers and constantly having to fight keep him in school.
Is More House a welcoming school? Will he make friends? Does the staff of the school and teachers know how to manage behaviours? Are they ABA trained? I would love it if you could help me.

Hi, My son is in year 7 at More House & has been there since year 4. It's been great for him. Although we live fairly locally we knew one child when joined who was in a different year. The school & parents are very welcoming. Our son has loads of friends who he invites to his party & goes to plenty of parties. Mostly all the boys seem to rub along well together. Each year has a number of parents who are year group reps. They are polite, helpful & very well behaved on the odd occasion when I am able to pick my son up or able to go to an event. My wife is one. They organise meet ups in the holidays (mostly summer) to which new parents & children are invited so they know someone when they start. There is a closed (private) facebook page. Apply to join it. There you'll be able to contact parents in your year. The parents post useful stuff on the facebook page. The year group reps also have email lists for their year & will circulate particularly crucial information. My son is not autistic but has dyslexia, dyspraxia & needs a lot of specific help. I cannot speak highly enough of the school. I'm not sure how things work but the school may be able to put you in touch with they year group rep for your year.

Some of that looks a bit odd. I mean all the boys are polite, helpful & well behaved & my wife is a year group rep.

My son's starting there in Sept (year 7). Can't wait!

Hello OWTBsmum, I suggest you contact the school & ask them to ask the year group rep for September's year 7 to get in touch. They usually organize meet-up's during the holiday so, assuming you do not live too far away, your son will have the opportunity to make some friends before he arrives in September. You'll also be able to meet some other parents. The school broke up on Saturday (7 July) but I'm sure the staff work for a week doing admin etc.
