Its a phrase I haven't come across before.
Dd2s Salt has said she is applying for it for her to pay for support in school, but its not a statement.

Educational establishments get funding per child on the register at school. If the child is registered as having a Special Educational Need the funding is higher

She is already on school action + though so I thought that SA+ out ranked SEN register ?

Mrs Who

I would ask the SALT to clarify further. The words "statutory funding" to me suggest a Statement.

If it is a Statement the SALT is seeking, you as her parent are far better off applying for such a thing yourself.

TBH School Action plus is in some cases not worth the paper its written on.

No its not a statement as I had already mentioned it in the conversation.I know about statements and a little about SA/SA+ but this was a new phrase to me. Will ask tomorrow at work (SN school) but the SALt is going to phone me on Tues after she has seen her too.

In our area (Herts)a new funding for SEN came into force on April 1, replacing EPF and allowing schools to get immediate(ish)funding, rather than waiting for statements. At least thats how it was explained to SEN parents! Schools are devided into groups (clusters) and manage the SEN fund locally. I just wondered if that is what your Salt meant.
