Anyone's DC seen a neurologist for processing dyslexia and memory issues?

Hi it's been suggested that my DS sees a neurologist to 'complete his diagnostic picture.' He has dyslexia, visual processing and memory problems, as well as some more minor issues with coordination, handwriting etc. Just wondering if anyone has been down that route and if it proved useful. I really want to get him additional help at school, where it seems medical evidence is the most useful.
Thanks x

A neurologist diagnosed my son with cerebral palsy but he was very young at the tiime, he has a one sided weekness, which effects movement and coordination. Post diagnosis he saw an educational psychologist as he is profoundly dyslexic (working memory issues, visual perception etc). Are they thinking dyspraxia? I think they only diagnose it if they've ruled out CP so that could be why the neurologist referral. My son has an EHCP so in that sense the more evidence the better in getting support.
