SEN TA vacancy

Hi all,
I'm job-hunting after 8 years as a SAHM. Looking for part-time TA vacancies locally so obv could take a while. Anyway, a local special school is advertising and I'd LOVE to apply (no illusions, having worked with SEN kids for a bit). The sticking point is, I couldn't possibly do a full school day, every day. Id need at least a couple of half-days off. Would it be an absolute cheek to ring them up and ask if they'd consider a job share? Blush
For context, I've got an overseas teaching degree and a bit of TA experience ( not a lot tho), I've worked for an SEN playscheme and as a 1:1 for a child with medical needs. Been to a few interviews, last two schools gave me very positive feedback (but obv short of a job offer!). Apparently, the last time i came 2nd out of 16 applicants and they were blown away by my enthusiasm Grin But I have no specialist skills e.g. BSL/Makaton or autism training.
The advert is a bit brief, just stating hours and that experience is desirable but not essential. So I'm a bit in the dark as to whether I'm the right calibre applicant, no mind one to make adjustments for.
Any insight?

I think it couldn't hurt to ask whether part-time hours would be considered for the right candidate. At least if they say no, then you're not applying for something unsuitable and could focus your efforts elsewhere.

No harm in asking. TA positions are often part time so it's worth a phone call.

Absolutely ask. My son is at a specialist school and has 1:1 provision but it is shared between LSAs rather than just the one.
