I'd be grateful for any help or ideas of what to do here.
DC's uni has given crap (as in no) support for months on end and then piling on the pressure because : guess what - DS's not doing as well as they would like!!!! ShockShock

Do any of you have any advice, info, experience of making a uni give the support that a student needs? has anyone complained to a uni? did it work? does anyone know how useful the university adjudicator (OIA) is if it comes to that?
Has anybody used them(OIA) at all? or is the fact they are there enough to make a uni do the right thing?
What about getting support from the students union? Is that useful? helpful?
Good idea or not?

anything else you think I need to know? - thanks xx

Can't believe we are still having to fight for this! SadAngry

My dc a lot younger but I know the new ehcps go up to 26. Did your dc have a statement or anything before? You haven't really said where the support is needed - has your dc tried any of the assistive tech that's out there? I.e. Recording lectures and converting them into written form/ speech to text editing etc or c-pen readers?

NADP national association of disability practioner might be a starting point. SKILL were absorbed by an organisation but there may still be info out there on the web from their time. NUS should nationally have an officer responsible for disabled students.
Has he applied for DSA? If he hasn't and he should have then when I worked in the field the uni were under less obligation to put in suppprt.

Has he met his personal tutor? Are they aware of his needs?
