so its quite possible that DD has ASD, she is 2.5 and is stuck in a myraid of waiting lists but health visitor seemed fairly sure that there is something alone those lines.

Anyway, she always religiously has a bottle of milk just before bed and one at 2am. i have tried every single way I can think of to get her off them but she will scream until she is sick and then scream some more. tried for a 10 day run at one point and I just can not get her off them. Considering if there is ASD then how do I get her off the milk?

Is there any reason you want her off the milk or is it the night time waking? Two of my girls have asd. One as well as her nt sister had a bottle up until she was three and we eased it out. My youngest with asd with dummy obsessed and on the recommendation of slt lady removed it day and night. It stopped her wearing shoes for 7 months as she used to get sensory feedback by chewing her dummy and now gets them through her feet.

she is anemic and from looking at her diet its not that she doesnt get enough iron rich foods but that she is up to 4 pints of milk a day!

All of mine loved milk. Especially my asders. I wondered if it was the sucking motion that relaxed them. Could you water the milk down?

Agree with msqueen - either water the milk down (very gradually!) or just push the time she has her milk to later and later - 2.05am, 2.10am, etc etc, so eventually it will just become her morning drink.

i have tried watering it down and she seems to know :(

Does she eat much? It could be she likes the feeling of a bottle. It's a comfortable. A lot of nt kids don't want to give up the bottle at this age. Is it the amount of milk she's drinking that you don't like?
