My son has recently being diagnosed with dyspraxia, we've had a year of upset stomachs which turned out to be linked to a bullying incident(from an older kid) which he was too scared to talk about, got to the bottom of it , the school dealt with that, he now has a laptop for some written work, he's had a blood test for celiac, negative,he was on an even keel but the diorrhea has returned, normally sunday eve thus missing school on mondays, the doctor is going to take a stool sample to check but it does seem to be emotional, he's just coming up to 10, people may think I'm being soft but when he is groaning and loose bowelled he can hardly concentrate on study..any ideas?

He could still have a gluten intolerance (an intolerance doesn't always show up on a test, so i was told), you could try cutting out the gluten and see if it helps. It could also be caused by stress, stress can trigger IBS (it does with me) and it can be very draining after a bout of diorrhoea Sad, he may need some help with coping with anxiety and stress (there are many things you can try including CBT therapy).

My dd had something like this - it got progressively worse and she was missing loads of school. We cut out so many different foods to no avail. In the end I consulted a Naturopathic nutritionist - after 3 weeks of basically eating no processed foods at all, she is a different child. we can now introduce things back, but the idea is to continue to avoid all artificial sweeteners and gluten. We were given lots of info about how the gut works and can be affected by anxiety. Worth a try?
