Books for teenagers

Hi, apologies if this has been asked before. My DD (14.5) has just been found to have a language disorder and dyspraxia (long story... I won't go into it all). I am trying to find some fiction that she might enjoy, and could relate to, but that would be at a level she can understand. She is into riding, and the usual teenage girl pursuits of boys, shopping, clothes, make up, etc. Her reading ability is around age 10. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

TIA

Hi there, just seen that no one else has replied. There are some excellent books published by Barrington Stoke which are aimed at teenagers in content but with lower reading ages. Lots of them are by rcognised authors, they are quite short too. Ask at your local bookshop, they will be glad to help. Or put into search engine B S or 'high low' or 'hi low' books. They tend to be either boy or girl focussed in content though there are of course some aimed at both.
Hope that helps.

Another possibility might be The Dream Master by Theresa Breslin. The hero is clearly dyspraxic, although it is never stated in the book. I think that it is about a 10 year old's reading level, though I might be wrong. It is a fantasy / time travel book - the hero time travels to Ancient Egypt, so I don't know if that will appeal to your daughter. You might want to look at a review on Amazon of it.
