Ok - this is my first post in this section - bear with me.

DD (3) starts school in September (summer birthday) she has speech and language delay due to previous hearing loss and is having sessions with a private SALT - she has raised the fact that dd also has trouble concentrating, taking turns etc.

DD cant remember sequences and cant count to 10 all the time - she also cant seem to remember letters or phonics very well - nor nursery rhymes.

She is however very independant, can dress herself including zips and even do her shoes up with laces - something her elder brother cant do at all.

I suppose I am just looking for reassurance that everything at school will be ok and that she is young and not to worry too much about the academic stuff - I am just worried she will be left behind. She is joining a very small indie school with tiny classes so that she gets lots of attention but am not sure that is the right choice either - the Local Authority have said that they dont consider her in need of either SALT or anything else so she wouldnt get official support in a state school.
