Have you thought of contacting the Family Fund?

Can't the school supply it?

is this a private school or a state school?

if this is a state school, you need to make an appoinmtent with head teacher, senco and form tutor, and discuss statementing. if this is a educational need, and they have a paper trail to prove requirement (ie he has been on school action plus for some time, has access to a number of outside specialists etc and is still failing to meet the targets on his iep) then they need to apply for a statement and get him the support (including eqt) that he needs.

look up ipsea and contact them for more info.

the number and weblink are all over the sn board, just do a search.

this is not your job. it is an educational requirement.

if school say he needs it, then between them and the lea they are going to have to provide it.

you could also contact the lea and speak to the area inclusion officer directly.

yes, there are loads of charities that ight help, but if it is for use in school, they will expect it to be supplied via ed.

(lol at iphone 4 - we had a similar chat with ds1's psych, they can be really useful for reminders and timetabling, homework alarms etc, but it was a 'nice to have' rather than a 'need'. needless to say, he doesn't have one)

what does the paed say? they usually have an opinion...

If its an educational requirement it should be in his statement.
