I have a friend who was using a book called Toe by Toe with her son and said she had great results.
Can anyone tell me anything about this book and will it be ok to use with a 7 year old with really poor reading skills.I really am lost with how to help and would be greatfull for any advice

A note of encouragement....My son was diagnosed with dyslexia at primary school. I was told not to expect much of him. That he would probably struggle with GCSEs and definitely could not take A levels. He did toe-by-toe and it transformed his ability to read and write. He ended up getting a first from Imperial University London in Astro-Physics! and is incredibly successful. I could not recommend toe-by-toe more highly.

Lori11 wow!
I posted on this thread many years ago as Essential FattyAcid. My dd got A* in English GCSE and has just completed English A level for which she has been top of her class. That would have seemed out of the question when she was in Year 9.

Her reading is good, she struggles with reading aloud and her spelling is not very marvellous, but it hasn't stopped her doing very well in English
