Can I please pick your brains for resources, websites and ideas, anything that's made a difference to your child (or what hasn't!) or what you wish your dc had access to.

Have been coming up against a brick wall for some time now getting specialist support for secondary school students who have problems with English, in particular dyslexia, other spelling difficulties, problems with sentence construction, sequencing etc

I want to use my maternity leave to put together resources and gather strategies for the classroom and also to set up some 1-2-1.

TIA

I suggest you look at the programmes marked with a black X on this page (scroll down) -all are suitable for older students:
www.dyslexics.org.uk/resources_and_further_10.htm

I use the Sound Reading System as a 1-1 tutor and it is fabulous -works quickly and efficiently with all ages, diagnosed with dyslexia or not:
www.soundreadingsystem.co.uk

Also, have a look at the Talisman books for older readers age 8+ / Reading Age KS1, produced by www.phonicbooks.co.uk

Thank you maverick for taking the time to post these, they look really, really useful Smile and the students should benefit.
