Can anyone give advice on how I can promote my website? I am selling prints that my daughter and I have made. I have tried TikTok but not getting much interaction- thanks!

Who's your customer?

It takes a long time to get a new website to be trusted. Why not try an online marketplace like Etsy first? Sure, you can do paid advertising, but there are two problems there. One, unless you know what you are doing, you are going to haemorrhage money at a rate of knots. Two, getting people onto the website isn't going to make them buy from you unless your website proves it is trustworthy.

Your website needs a whole shitload of key words and phrases, far more than you think it does.

When random people search for a product like yours, what are they going to type into Google (for instance)? All of those search terms need to be on your website multiple times.

You need to get it appearing higher up the list in the online search results and the only way that happens is via repeated hits. You can help it along a bit by doing it yourself hundreds of times, or you can pay someone who knows what they are doing with this sort of thing.

If eg, you are an artist selling dog portraits, people might search 'dog portrait artist YourTown' or 'golden retriever paintings Countyshire' or 'pet portraits'. Those search terms have to be included in your website.

Advertisement to your target audience - if you set up an ad on Facebook marketplace, then wait to post it, they will send you offers to get either a larger audience/more ads at lower costs as an inducement.

Run a content contests - like , tag and share to be entered to win

Donate auction items to local fundraisers - helps to get your name and product out there

In person sales - get a table at a festival, farmers market, church sale , whatever just get your product out where the people are

We are coming up to fall markets, Christmas ones won't be far behind, both are great to show off your work.
Have a table where you produce the work , so people can see your art in action, can lead to other sales and marketing opportunities.

Are there any cafe / coffee shop/ libraries that display local art .
I have found the problem with any online photos it it's hard to see the true colour and dimensions of any art work.

Yes, as long as they all make sense in the context, but if the OP does too much of repeating key words & phrases then Google & the other search engines will downgrade her website as dodgy.

Having a site that’s easy to navigate, states clearly & simply what you’re selling and loads quickly is the basic requirement.

Having links from sites with good reputations helps.

It’s getting harder & harder to rank high on search engines though, & even if you manage to get the top link that’s still hidden below AI overviews & a load of other crap. I’d concentrate on all the good ideas upthread.

You can get Google Analytics & Google Search Console for free & there’s plenty of stuff online about how to use them. They’ll tell you where your website traffic is coming from & what keywords you rank for.

Lots of ideas. This is extremely helpful. Thank you
