I'm going self employed as a House Calls dog groomer. Grooming people's dogs in their own home. I'm unsure which logo to go for. Please let me know which one you like best. At the moment it will only be used on my Facebook and Instagram.

2 and 4 are too fussy. The ones with just the dog are more eye catching and you're more likely to catch kn quickly what thr logo is for if you see it in passing.

And I just like the black and gold colours better which is why I prefer 1 over 3

I think 2 without the swirly pattern. I like the definition of the fur in 2, and the gold with black.

It totally depends on the kind of clients you’re aiming for. The logos which show the whole dog may lead people to think your business is only for small dogs. Using just a dog’s head removes the size of the dog from people’s minds (and will potentially prevent umpteen phone calls asking what type of dogs you groom).

The version with the lighter background is more appealing as it gives the impression of cleanliness. But what kind of service are you providing? Is it a functional groom or is it a perfume and pamper groom?

The swirly scrolls are very ornate and may make people think you’re expensive.

So, ask yourself who do you want your clients to be? What type of groom are you offering (functional v pamper)? How expensive will your service be? What size/breeds of dogs will you groom?

Once you’ve got the target audience clear in your mind the logo will design itself. If you’re planning to provide an affordable service to all dog breeds, none of the logos you’ve presented represent that.

Did you realise that they are showing in reverse order - I didn’t notice the number in the top left corner initially.

Anyway my choice is No. 4

number one the dog is a bit blurred
number 2 is a bit fussy
number 3 is good
but number 4 makes it look more upmarket

Number 2 isn't gold and black or has any swirls, did you mean number 3 ?
I didnt see the numbers in the corners at 1st .

@CGoodwin2 , I prefer number 3 but unless you are only going to groom small dogs I think you need to incorporate a image of a large dog too.

mintydoggyv · 16/07/2025 13:42

I have 2 westies and number 3 seems a good one it's pleasing to the eye and it says it all

CarriMarie · 16/07/2025 13:45

The image on no.3 on design no.1

I also didn't realise the numbers were in reverse order at first.

Good luck in your business, and don't forget to do your self employed forms as well in good time .Maybe a reasonable accountant.

This is excellent advice.

It's not about choosing the logo that's "nicest", it's about which one will be most effective. You need to decide what you want your logo to say about you first, and go from there.

Blackwholesun · 16/07/2025 13:57

I'm dyslexic and I really struggle to read black backgrounds with colourful fonts. The white background and clean look is straight up and clean.

HarryVanderspeigle · 16/07/2025 13:59

I prefer the plainer ones, but find it odd that they dogs don't really seem to have eyes.

NoisyMonster678 · 16/07/2025 14:20

Logos need less detail because it will go on your stationary, including reciepts, invoices will be on your paperwork and buisness cards.

This is where less detail really makes a difference, nice design, good branding and instantly recognisable.
