Classroom trainer/contracting role

I'm retiring soon and to supplement my pension I'm taking on an online part time trainer job.

It's classed as a contracting role so I'll be self employed and need to do a self assessment form and claim expenses etc.

Ive been a teacher for all of my working life so have no idea how to do this. I'll have part of my pension taxed and I'll have to pay tax and NI on my new role.

I'll need a new laptop and desk, chair which I can claim tax on. Not sure if I can claim for electric, wifi ?

Is there anything else I need to do?

Speak to an Accountant
They will tell you what sort of Company you need to do this, Sole trader or LTD
They will also be able to tell you how best to do it as Tax efficiently as possible and make sure you are IR35 compliant.
A good Accountant pays for themselves, even if you just get some initial advice and then do your own Tax returns etc.
