13 year old face painting - public liability insurance

Hi,
My 13 year old daughter has been asked if she would like to do face painting at a local Christmas Market after a youth worker saw the face paint she had done on herself. She said they are really keen on encouraging kids/ teenagers and of course my daughter really wants to do it.

She will need to be coveted by public liability insurance but as she is under 18 would I would need to take it out on her behalf?

I'm really keen for her to do this as it would be brilliant experience for her and she is always going on about making money but I have to say I feel a little out of my depth with it 😂

Depending on the organisation the youth worker is from and whether your daughter is doing it on their behalf their public liability insurance may cover it.

Hi, Thanks for replying. They have already said we will need PLI, not sure I would have thought about it otherwise 😕

Hi
I got PL from Simply Business - I was requested to get up to £5 million cover for a town stall. This cost £60 for 1 year. Less cover may be cheaper - not an expert. As may a young person's cover.

There is a market traders federation - https://www.nmtf.co.uk/
They may give advice in the circs to a non-member and a junior.

Check out A-N (Artist Newsletter) as they offer insurance for artists for all manner of cover. I pay £38 for cover of 5 million per year.

You'll have to take out the insurance, but you'll need to check with the insurer that they will cover her. She may be classed as an employee which could mean you'll need employers liability and will need to complete various amounts of paperwork from health and safety to risk assessments. It is entirely dependent on the insurer though but it could become very complicated. At the very least you'll most likely need to be with her and supervising. A lovely idea but I don't think the youth worker understands how complicated it could be.

Hello, My daughter (15) is in the same situation - she is wanting to raise money for an expedition next year by doing face painting at a spring fair. She needs Public Liability insurance but I can't find anyone to insure her. Just wondering if you found a solution?
