For many years now I've struggled trying to get shoes that fit. I'm female and have size 9.5 feet (EU 43/44) Now I have Achilles tendinitis and the search is getting even harder.
Many places appear to stock a UK9 but turn out to be more like an UK8. If I do manage to find a true to size, they sell out very very quickly.
I'm often told to shop mens trainers but would like something a little more stylish sometimes.
I've often thought of starting a business selling shoes for bigger feet - how would I go about doing this? I've no business experience. I'd really love to design a range ultimately.
Any advice for a complete novice?

I would start researching to see how big a customer base you are going to find. This could be a problem that really needs solving and if so you start looking into what people would be prepared to pay for such a product, or there may only be a small percentage of people that have a use for this type of product and you won't make any money from it.
Making your own products is very expensive and requires minimum order levels which may leave you stuck with stock you can't sell.

There is definitely a market - check out adjacent segments as well so you can see how big the addressable market might be.

if then google shoe manufacturers and shoe designers. And see how much it would cost to do a small run. Then I’d mock up the shoes (not actually manufacture them) and run a campaign on TikTok or Facebook and get some ‘pre-orders’ then you can have confidence about jutting some real money in to manufacture them (or persuade someone else to give you the money!)

Good luck !!
