Selling homemade products

I am self employed. Some of my customers have allowed me to use some proud I've made at home. They, family and a few friends suggest that I try and sell it. ( probably just on Facebook to begin, friends etc) no chemicals involved at all. However I can't find any if anywhere on how to do this legally...I mean, can I just make sure I label it properly, listing ingredients, make sure I have the right insurance ( I have this anyway) and crack on? ( I've looked ony local council website and can't find anything helpful - this isn't food or cosmetics)

Thanks for any help.

Don't sell to friends and family. Aside from the fact I can guarantee you'll end up not making any money, they will always tell you your product is amazing/you should sell it etc. Doesn't mean it is true.
As for the legalities, it depends what you are selling. As a bare minimum you need to learn about the consumer contract regulations and sale of goods act. Product liability insurance is a must, public liability if people will be visiting your home to collect or view things. You also need to inform your landlord/mortgage company and home insurer if you are running a business from home.

It totally depends what the product is. As you say, things like food and cosmetics are regulated to some degree

If its cosmetics there are very stringent requirements, you're premises have to be inspected, labelling is very specific due to allergies, you have to record batch numbers of every ingredient and register with hmrc plus a lot more. There's lots of information available on Google.
