Bits and pieces for your team

I run a service business and we all WFH (not just because of Covid. We have since the company started many years ago). ATM we are all women, ranging in ages from early twenties to late forties. There are 12 of us.

I like to send my team little 'tokens' every now and again (I also do Xmas presents and stocking fillers every year) like pre-loaded Starbucks cards, candy-filled mugs (with our caricatures on them - we just had them done and I thought it'd be nice for everyone to have a mug with everyone's caricatures on them), hampers with food, drinks, flower bulbs, hand creams, etc.

This is not to make up for anything because we pay very well. It's just that I really like my team, appreciate the work and flexibility they put in and want to say thank you.

Does anyone else do this and, if so, what do you get them? Please note that in addition to our Xmas do (we rent a big, beautiful villa/mansion, and we go for a couple of nights with our OHs), we also have a summer do (same format as the Xmas do). I'd appreciate your input. Thank you.

When I ran a business I’d do similar .... vouchers, meal out, overnight stay, special mug etc for something well done or someone has gone the extra mile.

At Christmas it would be an office lunch and a night out, money wine and chocolate for everyone.

For birthdays it was office lunch of their choice for everyone and cake.

Monthly it was bacon butties or an ice cream If the weather was nice.

I tried to be fair and the staff appreciated it.

I really like the monthly bacon butties but we don't share an office. Ice cream is even nicer!

How about pickles from the Sticky Pickle Company?

I work in employee engagement and the research shows meaningful, personal appreciation goes further than blanket appreciation. So actually sending a hand-written note that thanks or recognises a specific achievement or effort is more appreciated than a mug that everyone gets, for example.
