Ergo or Beco baby carrier (from newborn)?

Although I know everyone will start persuading me to use a wrap sling from newborn (), I am moving towards buying a soft structured sling that I can also use from newborn and that is structurally safe for the baby and comfortable for me (for trips into London on public transport!).... the idea being that it can used (prabably by DH!) all the way into toddlerhood for country walks.

I am looking at both the Ergo (plus newborn insert): www.naturalnursery.co.uk/ergo-baby-carrier---baby-backpack-145-p.asp and the Beco butterfly 2: www.becobabycarrier.co.uk/features-description.asp.

At the moment I think that the Ergo looks more comfy. Any opinions on these?

I have both and I find the Beco much better in every way.

The Beco here too. It has an internal harness which is best suited for a newborn. as they grow older it is not longer needed.

I don't think that the Ergo is particularly one of the better SSCs - I don't know why it is so popular TBH.

Agree that the biggest difference is that the Beco has an internal harness - not sure whether this is a good or bad thing.

Another vote for the Beco here. Also, do you know there's a soon-to-be-released new Beco that let's you do forward facing front carries? (Beco Gemini)
I can recommend getting a 2 week Beco Butterfly hire from Slumber Roo - we did that, they are fab and helpful and have tons of personal experience (no affiliation, just v happy customer). At least then if you feel it's not for you, it isn't such an expensive mistake.

I use the Ergo with the insert. Is v comfy and dd seems to weigh nothing in it. Only issue is that the insert is pretty warm in this weather.

Oh am so glad some asked this qestion, I have a streachy wrap which I found fab with DD untill about 6 months when she just got to heavy for me in it. I didn't get on with my woven wrape as found it much more fiddly to use and so want to get a Beco this time round I think they look fab. Have a freind who used the Beco Bufferfly untill her's fell apart. They look like the best option for a structered carrier, to me but am open to more sujestions.
