My DD is almost ready to be facing out in her close baby carrier- so was going to try it today cept the time I am going out coincides with time she needs to take a nap and not sure she will be able to sleep in the facing out position- won't her head wobble a bit? Will put her in facing in position cept she will probably scream a lot!

hmmmm.

I wouldn't myself as her head will probably flop forward which wouldn't be great.

I was told by someone who knows a lot about slings that even when they're old enough for facing out, it's better for them to face in as with inward facing their weight is spread across their bottom, but outward facing means it's spread across their crotch.

My DS is 5.5 months and I only ever carry him in the inward facing position in my Close carrier. He hasn't complained so far, despite being a nosy boy - he just looks to the side at everything that's going on.

My DS did fall asleep once facing out in his Moby at about 4 months old. he was all wrapped in a snowsuit too so his neck had lots of support, we just sheltered his face. He didn't often face out though, was just as happy facing in (and often slept that way)

Popping back to say I was told that if you do want to put the LO facing outward, I was told the way to do it is to tilt the bottom forward (away from your body) and the shoulders in towards your body. That puts the weight more towards your bum and less on their crotch.
