Baby carrier says 6-36 months

We bought a baby carrier for our 11 week old and when I've looked at it I realised it says for 6 months + 🙈 I tried her in it anyway (just in the house for a minute) she fits perfectly and she seems really comfy and supported in it... would it be okay to use or should I get a different one until she's 6 months?

What one is it? Some are really not suitable until they can sit up. And some are not suitable until they've got good head control

Check out the TICKS safety guidance

I have zero practical experience but I understand the issue with younger babies is head support and keeping their legs in the correct position, so I'd be wary of using with a younger baby. Is there an insert you can buy to adapt it for her?

Many of them have a baby insert which is why they say 6m+ but often they out grow the insert much earlier & only need a rolled up towel or something in the bottom till they grown more but impossible to tell without pics or carrier type

It's an Emma & Noah carrier with a hip seat thing with it. She can hold her head up perfectly she's got good control

Had a quick squint and that seems to have absolutely no head or neck support for such a young baby - although she can probably hold her head up for short periods the muscles would tire and not protect her airway, especially if asleep.

Go to your Local sling meet or sling library and try some out or hire a couple. Best way to get a good fit for you and Baby and eliminates expensive mistakes Smile

How would I find out where they are? I didn't even know you could do stuff like that 🙈 first time mama and I feel like I'm just winging it half the time 😔🙈

Google sling library [your location] , see if there's one near?

I'm not sure how up to date that list is, but should give you a start. Try searching on FB as well for "local area" sling library and see what comes up.
You should be able to have time with a qualified insured sling consultant, see and try out loads of slings, and have a cake and a cuppa for about £2 towards room hire. Our local one rents slings out to try for £5 a week Smile

Some libraries do online consultation instead and postal hire if it's too far to one for you, or the sling consultant can do home visits Smile

No head or neck support and the pics on the link show a terrible leg position. Please go to a sling library.

Found one right near me, thank you for your help 😊
