Boba 4g vs stokke mycarrier for big baby/tall dad/warm summer scenario..Help!

Having done copious amounts of research I have whittled the various semi structured slings down to The Boba 4G or Stokke Mycarrier for my rather large 4 month old. Given that these options are pricey I can least afford to buy that wrong one!

Can anyone recommend which would work best for a tall dad? My partner is 6'5" and I would like a carrier that he can also use comfortably.i see that the Stokke Mycarrier is recommended for wearers up to 6'3".Does anyone have experience of using it beyond this height?

Ideally, given the cost I would like to use the carrier for as long as possible (having already tried the net close2me caboo and the baby born original which have become uncomfortable for my 18llb er!).

I am also keen to avoid overheating in the summer and the option of using it abroad.

Your advice would really help. There is almost too much sling advice out there and I feel like i have read too much to make a decision! My last visit to a sling library resulted in me being turned away because it was too busy so I have temporarily given up on that option! Thanks in advance!

My dh is 6'3 and when we were carrying ds, had a 50" chest.

None of the more structured slings worked for him - getting the straps over his arms or a chest strap done up really didn't work. And adjusting straps between the two of us was a pita

We ended up with meitais with XL straps and that worked fantastically for us, and ds could be carried till he was 4 - and he's never been a small child Smile

Can you contact the sling library and ask when is the best time to visit? Usually the start of the session is easiest, in my experience (I run a library).

I really don't rate the Stokke - it's over-engineered without much thought about how it will work ergonomically. It's certainly not comfy as a baby gets heavier.

My sister's partner is a 6'4 ex-rower and uses a Manduca. I find the Manduca one of the best to fit a wide range of people sizes. Better than the Boba which doesn't work as well on larger people (because of the fixed curved straps rather than the straight, undo-able straps on the manduca). But in the end nothing beats trying things in person - hence the suggestion of persevering with the sling library. I understand that it must have been frustrating that they turned you away though.

Thanks so much for the advice both of you. I have decided to contact the sling meet facilitator like you suggested pootlebug. It sounds like it's worth trying the manduca and a meitai and working out which suits us best. ??

I have a Boba 4G - used it every day for nearly 18 months and my DC is nearly 3. I'm 5'8" and it's fantastic - I love it. Persuaded my BIL (who's 6'7"!) to buy one and he gets on with it fine. Seriously, buy the Boba!

I just took my hefty 9 month old on a 8 mile walk in the boba 4g, it was super comfy! The straps fit my 6 ft 7 husband but he's never tried it with the baby in.

Thanks, I'll definitely give the Boba 4g a try after that high praise! I really appreciate the advice.mit looks like the manduca and boba are the main contenders so far! ??
