What sling would be best for me?!

I would just like to apologise as I'm sure this has been asked loads!

Neither me or my partner drive, so I will be using public transport a lot and I don't want to rely on a pram 24/7 so I would like a sling. My partner probably wont use it, he isn't massively keen on them and thinks they're for 'hippys' and it's taken me months to convert him into using reusable nappies as they where 'disgusting'. I think after he realises you can have constant cuddles with the baby whilst wearing the sling, he will cave, so I want his needs considered too.

I suffer with joint pains, nothing official diagnosed and I just get on with it, but my partner suffers with scoliosis so I need to consider those whilst choosing a sling. This is the main reason I want a sling, and not a carrier so weight can be more evenly distributed.

I always preferred moby slings before I was pregnant, but I seem to have taken a liking to ring slings because of the side carry. I don't want to spend hundreds, I don't really wanna spend more than £50 if I'm honest. I'm happy to use second hand slings, as long as they're in good condition.

So, if anyone has good sling websites, and good advice for styles and models (even if they're not moby or ring) I will be very grateful! Thank you!

I love my connecta, but to be honest the best thing is to go to a sling library and try some out before you buy.

If you already have joint problems, I really wouldn't go for a ring sling. The weight being to one side isn't likely to be great.

A moby or similar is great, but doesn't last very long (maybe six months max) so it depends how long you think you might want to use one.

If you can find a sling library it really is worth trying some out.

The closest sling library is probably just over two hours away by public transport, and over an hour by car so it's not practical to ask my partners family to take me (my family live the other side of the country, so I can't ask them), so that's why I asked on here! Thank you though, deffo some food for thought :)

Ah. I think there are a couple of online hire companies?
