Has anyone had any experience with the moby stretchy wrap carrier? I'm about to buy one, but am reluctant due to the price.
There are however 'moby like' ones on eBay which are at least a quarter of the price - is there really any difference. I can't help thinking a stretchy length of fabric much be the same with the moby name or not.
Is it just branding pushing up the price? Can I successfully use the "fake" ones?
Any help will be great fully received.
Many thanks,
Sam

I'm not sure tbh, but they seem to come up a lot second hand and often hardly used. I paid £15 for mine, I think the lady I bought it off had used it once or twice...it is really thick fabric, you can tell its decent quality and it feels safe to use iyswim, I guess thats probably the bit you are paying for.

I'll be selling mine on, it is lovely to use but I have a few slings to choose from so I mainly use it round the house (only because this is DC4 and if I'm out something that buckles up is quicker and there are no ends for older DC's to try and stand on).

A Moby wrap is just one type of stretchy wrap, the others are not necessarily fakes, if I've understood you correctly the others are just other brands. Having said that, there are fake mobys around, i.e. wraps that are branded Moby but aren't.

I made my own stretchy wraps (for personal use and for gifts), a stretchy wrap is simply a long piece of Jersey fabric. The main difference between mine and a Moby is that I think my Jersey fabric is thinner-but I prefer this. Also I can't verify the dyes used whereas Moby can (I'm pretty sure they can anyway). But that doesn't worry me.too much, I figure the likes of primark or mothercare even don't guarantee child safe dyes in their clothing and a sling is no different in that sense!

But If fabric dyes do concern you, there are still cheaper options, I used a Victoria sling lady stretchy and it was brilliant, and she has a good reputation.
