Baby carrier advice

I'm looking for 2 carriers.
A back carrier for ds who is nearly 1. DH will mostly use this, when we go to beach, walks not suitable for pram etc. I've seen the little life ones on John Lewis but there are loads to choose from, all varying in price. Any recommendations, or ones to avoid?
Secondly, I'm expecting dc2 by end of the year. I would like a sling or carrier but don't know where to start. I've heard good things about ergo but are they easy to use on your own? I borrowed a tomy baby carrier from a friend with ds and really struggled to put him in when on my own. NCT do a caboo (I think) is that easier? Any recommendations? TIA

An ergo will fit both your requirements - you can back carry your 1yo and with an infant insert carry your newborn. The infant insert will be hot in the summer though. There are other soft structured carriers around too that will fit both criteria.

As long as you can reach behind to do up your bra (and it's easier than that tbh!) you can use an ergo solo.

A close caboo carrier is very easy to use but if you have fairly chunky babies it'll only last 3/4 months so it might be worth trying to pick one up second hand.

Excellent thanks. That's good to know about the caboo. Ds was nearly 8lb so not exactly tiny.

If you wanted to try before you buy it is worth seeking out your local sling library. I started out with an Ergo, now I have a Tula. There are lots of options, sizes and designs to try. The ergonomic carriers can be really comfy and can be so easy to put on solo with practice. I can even get my 1 year old on my back and it's made family walks so nice :) my daughter is 3.4yo she mostly walks but loves going up in the Tula on daddy's back :)

me and my baby girl really love SUPPORI sling! :) It's easy to carry and use. It's super comfy and just amazing overall. Good price, good quality and truly one of the comfiest things ever. My back doesn't hurt after wearing it all day with my baby girl :)
