Sling/Carrier that will grow with little one (now 5 1/2 months)

Hello - I am looking for some advice on what baby carrier I should get once my little one is too big for the Baby Bjorn, which seems to be quite soon.

I quite like the sturdiness of the Baby Bjorn and not sure a sling is for me. I am 5.5 and found the Baby Bjorn very comfy after I realised how to adjust it. I am not sure I want something forward facing as I am worried about hip issues.

One issue I have with the Bjorn - a nightmare to get baby in and out..

Is Ergo the one for me or Melkaj Mei Tai? Where would you buy it online?

Boba carrier - absolute genius! Similar to Ergo but with longer back, so lasts longer. Can also be converted for use with newborn as front carrier (if you have another one!). We got one a few months ago and haven't looked back!

The hip issues potentially caused by carriers like the BabyBjorn are from the position the baby's held in - one thin strip under the crotch. The more traditional carriers hold weight evenly from knee to knee, in the position the baby naturally adopts when curled up on your chest.

Boba, Beco, Ergo etc all have this wide base and are Soft Structured Carriers that fasten with buckles. You can also get ones that tie up, called mei tais, they're a similar shape - Rose and Rebellion are good, or MNS on ebay.

For the ultimate flexibility, try a woven wrap. Looks complicated but really isn't once you get the hang of it - book a session with a consultant, go to a sling meet, or check out YouTube :)

The Beco Butterfly is very easy to get on and off. On the front anyway. I am not very adept at a back carry yet!
