DD is a sturdy 22lbs and has loved being in the moby wrap from birth. I have put her in forward facing too which I'm not sure you're meant to do with a moby but she felt secure enough.

Anyway I would like to try back carrying her as she is so heavy. Any suggestions please?

You can do a back carry in the Moby (instructions should be online somewhere?), but you might need help getting her into it at first.

^Ah, right, sorry. My instructions still have the back carry on them. I've never done it though (looked way too hard!).

I use a mei tai. I think it's a good choice for non-pros. Wovens are a step beyond moby in difficulty.

I used a Beco Butterfly for back (and front) carries from that age. My ds is just getting too big for it now at 2.

A friend has a Boba 3G, which seems very easy for back carries - she got her DS in with no assistance, and he was very comfy.

I have a beco Gemini and can get my 9mo DS in without assistance, he's only 19lb though but I think suitable until 30lb ish?

Try Boba 3G or 2G if your carrying for more than 3-4 hrs. I used the ergo & boba 2G with twin 10 mth olds for 10 hrs & Boba 2G was far superior for comfort for me & baby. The lumbar (lower back) support was great. The twin in the ergo was arching & leaning her head back in pain after 4 hrs. Back & front carry was great & they can back carry up to 45lbs ie 3-4 yrs. Wraps arent recommended for older heavier babies so might not last as long. Mei teis have straps rather than clips to wrap around, so its worth trying before you buy. Also check the straps dont drape on the floor during preparation as it can be unhygenic in travel loos. Also see whether you like hoods, which can be handy to stop head bobbing, & get them off to sleep quicker & slight sun protection. Beco Butterfly & Oh Snap were the others I considered as they also go up to 45 lbs. Our twins both prefer the Boba.
