Carrying all your stuff with a baby in a sling.

How do people carry all their bits and pieces when they have their baby in the sling?

I have a Close carrier, which I really love for a small baby, but I'm looking at what to get when ds2 gets heavier. I love the look of the Manduca, beco and ergo, but only the ergo seems to have bags you can attach to carry all your stuff.

How do other people carry all the nappies, clothes, snacks, drinks etc you need for a day out when they have a baby in a sling? I can see you could use a backpack but what about when you carry the baby on your back?

I have a baby wearing bag from Chunkle Munkle which is great. Basically it has super long straps that knot so you can have it go round the baby and tie at the front. There are other makes available. Onbag is popular.
I also have a granny trolley! it's fab if I've got lots of stuff. Think a picnic in the park.

Also as they get older you take less stuff. carrying also makes you think do I really need it and most of the time the answer is no.
So for a whole day out with my 15 month old I'd take 2 nappies, wipes, a wet bag, some snacks, my wallet (which fits my phone, my keys and my lippy in it).

I loved my Close.

Thanks for the reply. The onbags look pretty good, I've also seen that the boba 3G can attach the boba pack to it which looks pretty good.

I have a fair bit to carry as I use cloth nappies mainly and also have a toddler who refuses to use toilets out and about so I need to carry a potette if we're out for a while. So nappies, drinks for both boys, travel potty, snacks.

I used to use my granny trolley a lot when ds1 was in the Close, do a lot more Internet food shopping now so shouldn't need it so much but they are fab.

I've damaged my wrist so was great to get out with the sling and not have to push the pram. Managed to get everything in a backpack.

Another vote for Onbag here. You can get shed loads in and it is really soft so you don't worry about it resting on DC.

How long are you planning to carry him? Just wondering because, my ds(2) is 10 months and 9 kg and he loves being in his Close carrier facing forwards. I can have a back pack or a shoulder bag to carry things, it doesn't interfere with the sling.

Not saying that you shouldn't get something else, just that maybe you wouldn't need to. :)

I'll carry him as long as we're both happy with it, it's so much easier when I have a toddler to chase after. I can see the Close starting to get a bit uncomfortable as they get heavier for long trips so fancy something with a waist strap too. Ds1 hated the backpack style carriers so the ssc look nice as they sort of piggy back instead.

I guess now I know they're called babywearing bags I can google some different ones but it's hard to search when you don't know the terminology! I'm also planning to get a rain cover since we live in the rainy south west- the wilkinet one looks good and not too expensive, and it says it is universal.

I have an ergo, which has a little compartment for a couple of nappies and wipes.
I used a small backpack plus shopping trolley.
