I've been having a nightmare trying to get a sling for Ds. So far I've ordered close (it has rings) couldn't begin to get this on. A Moby, I nearly got this on but still not right. Jojo mamam baby carrier, this is easy to get on but Ds doesn't feel secure plus I was boiling and his head was Lolling around.
Ds is 3 wks old, 7.13 ounces, I don't care about longevity I just need to be able to answer door etc so mainly will be worn in the house.
I've checked out sling meet and I can't see one coming up. Is there a sling for virgins like myself?
Thanks :)

I have nothing to add (sorry) other than I misread this and thought it said STILL a virgin please help!! was a bit Confused especially why in that situation you'd call on MNGrin

:) there probably is a thread on MN somewhere for losing it

I'm finding it so difficult as neither ds or dh have any enthusiasm for sling practicing, any spare time I try to nap. Had another go today and the shoulder straps look good but I've lost the tightness in the pouch area so I don't feel confident enough to put ds in it . I've warned dh that we need to practice the sling first thing or else :-0 if I fail over the weekend I'll look at pouches. Presumably with practice the Moby can be put on quickly when you know what you're doing?
Thanks

The Moby is worth another crack, I had a Sleepy Wrap for the first few months and it was excellent. There are videos online, and you might need to practise it a bit first, but as long as you tie it as instructed and tightly (no need to leave room for the baby in a stretchy wrap, unlike a woven one), it will be fine.

If you really still can't get the hang of it you could ask in the local section for someone who is used to slings to come and show you. Or just go to a baby group and look for someone using one!

Had another attempt this morning, put ds in it this time, just need to support his head better.
The only thing that bothers me is the heat, I'm a hot person so ds felt boiling in there, he's only got a vest on but he's picking up my body heat. I thought he'd love it but he screamed the house down.
I'll check out that website, I've also emailed a sling meet woman that comes to your home. Blimey wish she'd come now, I'm so anchored to this bloody sofa. Thanks all

Today I wore DS for over an hour and he slept like a log. I took your advice greentrees and we went for a walk in the garden, he loved it. I still need to practice on my own when DH at work, and still some work to do around the head area but we're getting better.
Can't imagine keeping it on for long though as its so warm. Might have to wander round nude wearing only the moby Shock
