I have been looking at slings for what seems like years. I don't have any sling meets near me so having to do it all on my own.

I had a close baby ring sling with DS2 and it was ok but it always made my shoulders really hurt, even after just 5 minutes of having it on.

So now I am down to these
Ellaroo Wrap Sling
Moby Wrap sling
Or
Ellaroo Ring sling

I am not as keen on the ring sling as I am the other 2.

I don't have many requests, except more comfortable than the Close ring sling I had, would like to be able to try and breastfeed in it and also it would be nice if both me and DP can wear it. I am 5ft 8 and a size 14 and he is 6ft and is quite big. Muscley rugby player big rather than fat big Grin

Which do I buy? I am due in June. Open to any suggestions of others too.

Thanks very much

If you're due in June, I'd go for the Ellaroo over the Moby. The Moby is great, but it can get very warm in summer weather, whereas the ellaroo is quite thin so much more suited to summer.

Both are very versatile for different sized wearers.

The Ellaroo isn't stretchy like the Moby - that isn't a problem, it just means the technique for putting it on is slightly different and a little bit (although not a lot) trickier than a stretchy - with a stretchy you can pre-tie the wrap then use the stretch to pop the baby in, with a woven like the Ellaroo you kind of tie around the baby as you go. If you'd like a stretchy more suitable for summer wear than the Moby, the Wrapsody Stretch is the best I've tried.

i used an ellaroo wrap with dc3. i managed well until he was a year old and i wanted to start back carries...he was a small child and the ellaroo was comfy and easy to use on the front, but it was a two man job for a neat job on my back wrapping!

i changed then to an ergo. it was fantastic and used it for both front and back carries until on the odd occasion, he was four years old. comfiest carrier i have ever used.

good luck with your new baby!

I had a close for DD1 and have a Didymos for DD2. I don't know about an Ellaroo, but the thing I'm finding about the Didymos is, because it is woven, it is a lot stronger and takes the weight of a bigger baby better, with less 'drag', so I find it more comfortable long term.

Thank you, sorry been out most of the day and only just got back to this.

Pootle Where sells the Wrapsody Stretch? I had a quick google but they all seem to be in America and there weren't any on ebay.

They come up 2nd hand on www.naturalmamas.co.uk for sale boards. There aren't heaps, but you can post an 'ISO' (in search of) on that board too. You can search the boards for Wrapsody. Occasionally people list them under their old name of Bali Baby Stretch. They do come up on ebay, but not nearly as frequently as Moby etc.

For vendors, www.naturalconnection.co.uk have them, as do www.kangarinos.co.uk and www.b2boutique.co.uk
